Is your child having difficulty keeping his school supplies and papers organized? Does your teenager struggle to remember and complete her assignments, prepare for exams, manage long-term projects, or follow through on responsibilities? Do you have trouble remembering deadlines or organizing your schedule?
While we all have the best of intentions to stay organized, some of us lack the attention, memory and organizational skills to complete these everyday tasks, leaving us frustrated and falling further behind. If managing your “stuff,” your time, or your schedule feels overwhelming, it may be time to ask for help.
Improve Memory, Attention & Organizational Skills
With one-on-one direct guidance, you or your child can improve these skills, known as executive functioning abilities. At the Rice Psychology Group, we work with you to define the organization, planning and time management issues that are holding you back, and then we teach you the organizational systems, schedules and routines that will work best for you. In addition, we’ll use our knowledge and expertise to introduce you to tools, such as PDAs, smart phones, schedulers and timers, which can help you to stay organized for the long term.
For many clients, we can solve attention and organization challenges by teaching these skills and strategies. However, for some students and adults, we need to start at a deeper level. Using Cognitive Training, we can address the areas of brain function that serve as the foundation for learning organizational skills.
